Current information

Based on the decision of the Hamburger Senat of May 5, 2020, the Bucerius Kunst Forum can reopen the exhibition David Hockney. Works from the Tate Collection (extended until September 13, 2020) to visitors starting May 7, 2020 When enjoying art, the health and safety of our visitors as well as our employees is our top priority.

The regular opening hours apply (daily 11 am - 7 pm, Thursdays 11 am - 9 pm) as well as appropriate hygiene measures to protect visitors and employees.
This includes:

  • The number of visitors is limited to 40.
  • We are required to collect the contact informations of all visitors, including the date and time of their visit, in order to reconstruct possible chains of infection. In order to be able to guarantee this regulation, we ask you to leave your contact informations in the designated place and to deposit the completed paper at the cash desk. 
  • We kindly ask you to pay by card at the cash desk or the shop.
  • We kindly ask you to protect yourself and others by wearing a mouth- and nose protection.
  • new directions inside the house, adapted to the situation
  • no cloakroom, it is only possible to use the lockers
  • no handover of media guides and headphones, instead the BKF Guide can be downloaded free of charge to your own smartphone


We ask for your understanding that there may be waiting times in front of the entrance to the Bucerius Kunst Forum and ask you to observe the distance rules of 1.5 m.

You can reach us by DB trains from all directions, exit Hauptbahnhof or Dammtor station, with the U3 station Rathaus, the U1, U2, U4, S1, S2 and S3 station Jungfernstieg, the MetroBuslinien 3, 4, 5, 6 and the Bus 109 stop Rathausmarkt and the express bus lines 31, 34, 35, 36, 37 stop Rathausmarkt.

Guided Tours

Audio Guide

In order to prevent infections and protect your health, we are suspending the distribution of devices such as audio guides or electronic guidance systems until further notice. Instead the BKF Guide can be downloaded free of charge to your own smartphone.

For just 21 euros, anyone under 36 years of age is entitled to free admission to our exhibitions for a full year. In addition, Young Members only pay the reduced ticket price for all Bucerius Kunst Forum events.

Kunstmeilenpass

The Kunstmeilenpass allows you to visit all five institutions of the Kunstmeile Hamburg (Kunsthalle Hamburg, Deichtorhallen, Museum für Kunst und Gewerbe, Kunstverein and Bucerius Kunst Forum) including special exhibitions. It is valid for 12 months.

The entrance ticket entitles the holder to visit the exhibition on the day of the event, which is exclusively open to event guests on the evening of the event from 7 pm — 7:45 pm, except for the AudioSalon and Get to the Point, Hamburg.

Cultural initiative Your City
The Your City cultural initiative has been organised and funded by Bucerius Kunst Club, Bucerius Kunst Forum’s friends association, since 2012. The project is aimed at teaching various painting techniques in a hands-on and playful manner to primary school classes from Hamburg and the surrounding region following a visit to an exhibition at Bucerius Kunst Forum.

With the Art and Dementia project, Bucerius Kunst Forum provides a space for cultural participation for visitors with dementia-related conditions. This project is aimed at improving the quality of life and communication abilities of people affected by these conditions through participation in arts and culture.

Bucerius Kunst Forum provides full wheelchair access

  • The cash desk and shop are on the ground floor.
  • A wheelchair-accessible lift takes visitors up to the first floor with the exhibition gallery, up to the second floor with auditorium and atrium and down to the cloakroom in the basement.
  • Wheelchair-accessible toilet
  • A wheelchair for visitors with walking difficulties is available free of charge at the cloakroom.

Your event in our space

Bucerius Kunst Forum can provide exceptional rooms for your event, with one of the best views in Hamburg of the Binnenalster and Rathausmarkt. Receptions for up to 300 people, conventions, seminars and press conferences can be held here in grand surroundings.

  • View the current exhibition outside the official opening hours.
  • Enhance your event by offering an exclusive guided tour or an art history lecture on the exhibition theme.
