About the exhibition
In autumn 2020, the Bucerius Kunst Forum will present a Georges Braque retrospective, the first comprehensive survey of the artist’s paintings to be mounted in Germany in 30 years. Braque is regarded as the initiator of Cubism and one of the premier artists of the twentieth century. The exhibition traces Braque’s astonishing creative diversity and sheds light on the various stylistic phases and formal shifts in his work – from the Fauvism of his early career to his final, nearly abstract series in the post-war period.
The exhibition is being organised in cooperation with the Centre Pompidou, Musée national d'art moderne, Paris.
