Current information

Based on the decision of the Hamburger Senat of May 5, 2020, the Bucerius Kunst Forum can reopen the exhibition David Hockney. Works from the Tate Collection (extended until September 13, 2020) to visitors starting May 7, 2020 When enjoying art, the health and safety of our visitors as well as our employees is our top priority.

The regular opening hours apply (daily 11:00 - 19:00, Thursdays 11:00 - 21:00) as well as appropriate hygiene measures to protect visitors and employees.
This includes:

  • The number of visitors is limited to 40.
  • We kindly ask you to pay by card at the cash desk or the shop.
  • We kindly ask you to protect yourself and others by wearing a mouth- and nose protection.
  • new directions inside the house, adapted to the situation
  • no cloakroom, it is only possible to use the lockers
  • no handover of media guides and headphones, instead the BKF Guide can be downloaded free of charge to your own smartphone


In accordance with the current restrictions on contacts, there will be no guided tours and events in analogous form until the end of June.

In the case of new developments, the overall situation can change any time. On our website we will inform you about the latest developments.



Detailed schedule of your visit

  • The number of visitors in the exhibition is limited to 40.
  • As usual, you can purchase exhibition tickets online or at the cash desk of the Bucerius Kunst Forum.
  • We kindly ask you to pay cashless at the cash desk or the shop (with EC or credit card payment)
  • We kindly ask you to protect yourself and others by wearing a mouth- and nose protection.
  • The house provides a guidance adapted to the situation: The entrance to the Bucerius Kunst Forum is on the side of Alter Wall. To leave the house, please use the exit to the Fleet, through the Bucerius Book Shop.
  • The small elevator to the left of the cash desk may be used by a maximum of one person, the large elevator to the right of the shop by a maximum of three people.
  • The general distance requirements of 1.5 m applies.
  • It is not possible to use the cloakroom, please use the lockers for your jackets and bags.
  • You are welcome to use the disinfectant dispensers, which are located in the entire house.
  • No media guides and headphones will be provided, instead the BKF Guide can be downloaded free of charge to your own smartphone.  

We ask for your understanding that there may be waiting times in front of the entrance to the Bucerius Kunst Forum and ask you to observe the distance rules of 1.5 m.
